Not everyone are animal lovers (and that’s fine, to each their own), hence some habits that pet owners have can seem strange to non-pet people.
A Malaysian took to the TwtSecretsMY Twitter page to share how they were disgusted to find out that their friend uses the same sponge to wash both their human plates and their dog’s bowl, right after they had eaten at their friend’s house.
They wrote, “My friend asked me to wash their dog’s food bowl using the same sponge that they use to wash their plates and cups.”
“I’m a Chinese who doesn’t have a dog. Recently, I crashed (stayed over) at my friends house where they have a dog. At that time, they had just finished eating and I helped to wash the plates. After that, my friend asked my to take their dog’s food bowl and wash it as they had given their dog rice and fish to eat.”

They had no problem with helping to wash the dog’s bowl but how they were told to do it was an issue.
“I don’t have a problem with it, it’s just that at that time I was confused and was looking for their extra sponge and soap to wash their dog’s food bowl.”
“I was insanely shocked when he told me to use the same sponge to wash the dog’s bowl and the plates that we used to eat with. I don’t have a dog, so I don’t understand the lifestyle of living with a dog. But seriously, when he said that I immediately got nauseous,” they shared.
In all honesty, it does seem like it’s a bit of hygiene issue.
Dog owners, would you wash your plates with the same sponge used for your dog’s food bowls? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
