At this point, we all know that in order to visit certain government and administrative buildings, we would need to dress modestly to avoid being denied entry.
And while many who have faced this would return home to change, one Malaysian decided to improvise to save time.
Jeanne JY took to the Bukit Indah大小事 Facebook group to share how she used her car seat cushion as a sarong to cover up during her visit to a police station in Perak.
She humorously wrote, “Tuan (a police officer): Your skirt is not long enough, it cannot be above the knee. It has to go half way down your calf. You can’t go in, so sorry but this is the SOP. Me: Give me 5 minutes.”
“I immediately got back into my car and used my hair tie to bundle up the sofa cushion and I added a coat. If there was no coat, it would all fall apart and I would have to go out and try again.”
She then approached the police officer again, this time in her odd get up.
“Tuan, I tried my best. He then waved for me to come in. They (all the officers present) all laughed until they couldn’t speak.”
“I didn’t know that I was lucky enough to participate in this year’s Most Creative Costume Award. There was no sarong to borrow here at the station. And to think that I almost went home to change,” she added.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Jeanne explained that she meant no disrespect with the stunt and had only done it as she was rushing for time.
Jeanne might not have won any creative costume contest but she’s definitely won the most creative problem solving skill award in our eyes!
