An anonymous sharing by a Malaysian man has gone viral on social media recently due to his rather ‘hot take’ regarding childbirth.

Specifically, he shared his dissatisfaction that he had to pay the full hospital bill and postpartum massage for his wife after she gave birth to their child.

Instead, he claimed that the cost should be split between the wife and the husband because making the baby in the first place requires both.

The anonymous message was sent to @meinmokhtar who shared it on X, with the post going viral with over 6,900 reposts and 5,700 likes.

In fact, according to @meinmokhtar, the man was really adamant about his opinion that he had sent a similar message twice.

The anonymous message reads,

“Husbands please answer. When your wife gives birth, who should pay for the hospital bill and postpartum massage?”

“My wife wants to claim all the costs from me, but I believe it should be split between us because both of us made the child. Why am I the only one who has to pay for all? Please answer.”

In the replies to the post, many Malaysians condemned the man for being so selfish in the relationship.

One commenter said that as the husband, he should pay for the costs as it is his responsibility and that while it does take two to make the baby, only the wife had to carry the child in her womb for 9 months.

Another commenter echoed the same sentiment and sarcastically asked whether the man studied about responsibilities before getting married.
