M’sian Courier Company Issues Apology After Viral Video Shows Van Driver Running Over Dog in Banting

A recent video circulating online shows a GD Express (GDEX) delivery driver making a routine delivery in a housing area when, unexpectedly, the driver runs over a dog lying on the road in Banting.

The video has sparked widespread outrage among netizens, with many expressing their anger and demanding justice for the dog, while also calling out GDEX for answers.

“It was an accident we deeply regret”

Following the incident, GDEX recently issued an apology statement on their Facebook page to address concerns regarding the event that occurred on November 6.

In the statement, GDEX acknowledged that one of their drivers had indeed run over a dog and expressed their deepest regrets for the unfortunate incident.

“We deeply regret this accident and sincerely apologise for the unfortunate event,” they explained.

The driver was suspended

With that said, GDEX emphasised their commitment to prioritising safety and announced that the driver involved has been suspended from duty.

Additionally, GDEX assured that further disciplinary actions will be taken against the driver, and they are reviewing and improving their safety procedures and protocols.

“We appreciate those who have brought this matter to our attention and will take the necessary steps to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future,” they concluded.
