Two men in Terengganu were arrested after they disguised themselves as civil servants to confront a couple and later proceeded to allegedly rape the 19-year-old girl.

According to Harian Metro, the 21-year-old and 28-year-old suspects allegedly disguised themselves as ‘Anti-Vice officers’ and detained the victim and her 20-year-old boyfriend in front of a boarding house in Kuala Dungun on 14 May.

The suspects reportedly asked the couple for RM1,000 cash to cover up their ‘immoral actions’, but the couple was unable to pay the money.

As a result, the suspects took the girl to a hotel where they allegedly gang-raped her.

The girl, who initially refused the suspect’s request, had to comply as she did not want her family members to know what she was previously doing with her boyfriend, reported Utusan.

According to Dungun District Police Chief, Superintendent Baharudin Abdullah the suspects were later arrested in Paka at 6.15pm on 5 June and will be remanded for five days until 10 June to assist in investigations.

“The case is being investigated under Section 375 (B) of the Penal Code for gang rape and Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a civil servant,” he said.
