We have seen many bizarre Guinness World Records over the decades, and now comes another normal yet puzzling world record attempt. According to The Star, a Belgian man took a risk in an attempt to set the world record for sitting long hours – wait for it – on a toilet. Yep, you’ve read that right!
Jimmy De Frenne tried to set the Guinness World Records after he challenged himself to sit on the toilet for 165 hours. That’s nearly seven days or a week!
You’d think Jimmy tried to achieve this record in his own home, but he actually attempted to complete the task in a bar at Ostend, Belgium.
However, the determined man only managed to sit for 116 hours as he gave up after his legs started to hurt and he felt fatigued. At least, he completed the task in almost five days. That’s pretty impressive, don’t you think?
During the mission, Jimmy was allowed to get off sitting the toilet seat for five-minute quick breaks, and he would gather the break time for sleep too. On top of that, he got breaks to go pee too as the toilet which he sat on wasn’t linked to any plumbing system in the bar.
During the breaks, like any other normal person, Jimmy ate food, checked his phone and hung out with his friends as well as family. Ah, looks like he didn’t have a shitty day after all!
As of now, Jimmy’s record has yet to be validated by Guinness World Records as their representatives hasn’t gotten back to him on his strenuous attempt at sitting long hours on a toilet seat.
