It has been nearly 2 weeks since Najib Razak has gone into prison, and just yesterday (September 1), his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was released on a RM2 million bail. Her 10-year jail sentence and a fine of RM970 million have been temporarily suspended following her request for an appeal.

Over the past few weeks, many Malaysians have cheered for the punishment that has befallen onto the pair. However, controversial entrepreneur, Aliff Syukri is not a fan of this as he thinks that this is not a moment of celebration.

On a Instagram post last night, Aliff reminded people to not go overboard with the insults as the pair is going through “late-life challenges and crisis.”

“Imagine that’s our parents. And we don’t even know what fate has in store for us.”

Been there, done that

Aliff took the time to share his experience of being apprehended by the police and described the experience as “frightening.”

“I couldn’t even sleep due to embarrassment. That was the most unforgettable moment of my life.”

He then said that he couldn’t even begin to imagine his fear and embarrassment if he were in Najib and Rosmah’s shoes. He assured that he was not their fan, but he simply “wanted this matter to become a lesson for everyone.”

“Only God knows if they’re right or wrong. I pray that the pair are strong enough to go through this exceptional challenge.”

Aliff also reminded the public to leave matters to the relevant parties to handle – the police, the court, and the judges.

In the meantime, he urged Malaysians to stop focusing on the sins of others so much that we forget to reflect on ourselves.

“We don’t know what will happen to us in the future.”

We’ll never know what kind of surprises fate has in store for us. Regardless, we hope that Najib’s imprisonment and Rosmah’s punishment will send a message to everyone out there that no one is above the law.
