Car thefts are on the rise, especially in Malaysia. But how often do you hear about cars disappearing without a trace?
Shawn Leong chose to share it on Facebook, where he posted about his friends’ missing car in a public Facebook group.
It was shared that Wina (the car owner) and her husband initially parked their car in the Setapak housing area. However, the next morning, they realised the car was missing.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Wina shared how the unfortunate timing of the incident hit them hard, especially since her due date is approaching. She also mentioned that her baby check-up items, hospital luggage and medical belongings are inside the car.
“We’re in a challenging situation where purchasing a new car isn’t as simple.”
She also shared that the money or reimbursement isn’t a concern to her and her husband but rather that the car was more important as it was their means of moving around and since its paid in full, there wasn’t a monthly burden on them for the car at least.
When they asked the flat management if this has happened before, they said it’s been a long time since any car stolen cases happened in the flat, but there are few stolen bike cases.
“When my husband went to file a report on 3/1/2024, around 11 am or so, the police informed him that they had already received three reports of missing cars on the same day (3/1/2024), making my husband the fourth report of the day.”
