A 55-year-old grandmother recently fell from her flat unit in Kelapa Gading, Indonesia, and somehow remarkably managed to survive the impact!

Based on a report by Tribunnews, the elderly woman had slipped whilst she was hanging up clothes at her balcony on the 21st floor of the apartment building as informed by the Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Vokky Sagala.

Fall 1

“Kelapa Gading police received a report in regards to a woman who had fallen from the Emerald Tower of the Gading Nias Apartment Residence, Kepala Gading in North Jakarta. The results of the investigation found that she is said to have slipped from the balcony of the 21-storey apartment while drying clothes,” he said.

However, she survived and only suffered a broken bone in her left shoulder after falling onto the roof of a Toyota car. Sagala believes that the vehicle had broken her fall and saved her from a much worse fate.

The woman was then rushed to the Sakit Gading Pluit Hospital for further treatment.

“We managed to speak to the victim who shared that she had slipped while drying clothes, but we are still conducting further investigations,” Sagala added.

21 floors are no small feat, which is why it is truly astounding that she managed to survive. We wish her a speedy recovery!
