Ever find yourself mindlessly chewing away on the straw of your drink? It gets a little difficult to enjoy your drink once the straw is bent out of shape from your teeth marks. Thankfully, that won’t seem to be an issue anymore with the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s edible straws!

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf have taken a more environmentally friendly approach to their business by switching their plastic straws to edible straws!

Turns out, these edible straws are made out of rice and are 100% safe to be eaten. These straws are also completely turtle-friendly. #SaveTheTurtles!

In their post-dated back on 8 June, they said:

“#SaveOurOceans: We have started off on the right foot with our biodegradable, edible, and 100% turtle-friendly rice straw.”

Straws made out of rice and are tasteless

We tried it out ourselves, and the straw is absolutely tasteless! It doesn’t ruin the taste of the drink at all!

We initially felt a little odd munching on our straws and actually swallowing the pieces but after a while, we actually found it weirdly satisfying!

A round of applause to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf team for taking the more eco-friendly approach. Kudos!
