PDRM recently rescued 402 abused children and teenagers from welfare homes allegedly handled by Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holding (GISBH).
Following the arrest of 171 individuals from 20 welfare houses, Ikhwan TV, a company under GISBH, posted a video on TikTok, featuring 2 representatives from the company discussing the recent situation, which quickly went viral.
The video seems to be a response to allegations
In a statement, the company denied all claims of exploiting the victims who were sodomised and said the allegations were false.
The video seems to address the recent allegations and it features a conversation between 2 women (let’s call them Farah and Amira) discussing what happened.
In the video, Amira shared that she wasn’t the only one who believed the allegations or accusations, noting that many others also share the same belief.
“You’re boycotting Muslim products just because of the news?”
Farah then responded, saying that the slander was started by haters, spread by the ignorant, and fully accepted by fools.
“That’s why we shouldn’t be Malays who try to bring down other Malays just because we can’t stand to see them succeed,” she added.
The story goes that when Farah asked where Amira was headed, she mentioned she was going to a different chicken shop, in reference to how people have recently been boycotting the company’s chicken business.
Farah then asked,
“Do you know how they slaughtered that chicken? You’re willing to boycott Muslim products and buy chicken from other sources, where you don’t even know their slaughtering process, just because you blindly believe in that slander?”
“We need to support Muslim products”
Farah convinced Amira to keep buying from the company, stressing how important it is to support Muslim products.
However, at the end of the video, the 2 women were seen promoting the company’s chicken brand, highlighting that their chicken is slaughtered according to Islamic law, is a Muslim Bumiputera product, and is guaranteed halal.
While the video is part of their branding marketing, it didn’t take long for netizens to flood the comment section with their thoughts and opinions.
“Enough with the narrative of trying to bring down Malays. Just because someone is Malay doesn’t mean they automatically deserve support, especially if the company is problematic. Take Khairul Aming as an example, he’s Malay too, but he’s earned support because he isn’t problematic.”
“Why support a business that harms young people and is cruel to children? Make it make sense, sister.”
“Not just willing, but actually boycotting any products and brands that use religious or racial sentiments. If you want to do business, make good products that people will want to buy.”
“Are other chicken shops not halal? Is only your shop halal? That’s just making assumptions. Just because you believe your shop is the most correct and halal. If the shop behind is run by Malay Muslims, wouldn’t it be unfair to them too?”
