The Facebook page of the Malaysian Chinese publication, China Press is BACK ON TRACK!

Its 2.5 million followers also remained unchanged, as announced by China Press this morning (June 12). According to the publication, its FB page was taken down and gone from the radar on Monday night (June 10) after China Press allegedly violated the rules and guidelines on Facebook.

Readers and followers of the page were baffled to see the page disappearing into thin air, and it didn’t take long for China Press to confirm the matter.

As an alternative, China Press “switched” to other pages on Facebook to keep its followers updated on world events, namely  “ Johor” (中国报柔佛人) and “ Northern Malaysia” (北马人).

At the time of writing, the initial Facebook page of China Press is already accessible to the public, and the publication continues to carry out its duties.

In attempts to bring the Facebook page back to life, China Press said the management had been continuously appealing to Facebook and their efforts have been proven fruitful after the publication regained its access to the Facebook page.

“Now that we have regained access to our page, we will continue bringing the latest news and information to all readers.”

The violations and guidelines of Facebook can be tricky at times but we’re glad to see a fellow publication coming back to life!
