Often, couples would try new things to spice up their relationship but do make sure that all parties agree to it before doing anything! Consent is sexy okay? This man, a 27-year-old auxiliary police officer from Singapore was recently sentenced to 23 years and 11 months in jail and 24 strokes of the cane on Monday (November 26) because he had asked another man to rape his girlfriend of two years while he watched.

According to Straits Times, the 27-year-old woman had started dating the man in November 2014 and agreed to consensual bondage sex with her boyfriend. Apparently, he had gotten the idea after watching the movie 50 Shades of Grey and had persuaded his girlfriend to introduce soft bondage practices into their sex life as he wanted to spice things up.
The man had physically restrained the woman during sex as she trusted her boyfriend and wanted to please him. She also reluctantly agreed to him recording videos of them when they were being intimate. However, he wanted more and asked the girlfriend whether she would be interested in having a threesome but she refused.

In 2015, her boyfriend made contact with another user, Srihari Mahendran, 22, on Tumblr when he was viewing pornography there and became friends after trading explicit details of their “sexual conquests”. That was when the accused (the boyfriend) told Srihari about his fantasy of watching another man have sex with his girlfriend but told him that his girlfriend had refused.
Hence, they hatched a plan for both of them to have a threesome with her, without her knowledge or consent. On 29 April 2016, the couple checked into a hotel room where they had their tryst. The boyfriend had also tied the woman’s hands with a rope and blindfolded her before that.

Unbeknownst to her, her boyfriend had broken her trust and arranged for Srihari to join them. The court heard that the accused had asked Srihari to undress and wait in the bathroom while he was having sex with his girlfriend. Halfway through, the accused gestured to Srihari to take over and he even moaned so that his girlfriend would not be suspicious.
The second time it happened was on 6 August 2016; the woman wanted to celebrate her boyfriend’s birthday with a staycation at a hotel so he had asked Srihari to standby and even sent provocative photos of the victim to him. The couple enjoyed the night at the hotel but in the early hours of August 7, the accused went downstairs to the lobby and brought Srihari to the room.
The boyfriend tied her hands and blindfolded her again but this time, she realised something was wrong. That’s because there was someone holding her waist and having sex with her but at the same time, her blindfold was being adjusted by another pair of hands. Kantoi!

Shocked, she managed to free her hands and when she removed her blindfold, she saw another person in the room. She tried to reach for her spectacles to see properly but her boyfriend stopped her as Srihari hurriedly left the room. She confronted the accused and managed to view the episode as he had recorded it. She then said,
“This is clearly rape. Do you know what you have done?”
She hurried to the hotel lobby and asked to see the CCTV footage as she said that she could have been raped. After viewing the footage, she recognised Srihari when he walked into the lobby and was detained by the hotel staff. Her boyfriend who was still in the room had apologised and begged her not to report to the police as he wanted to “build a life” with her.
However, she called the police who came and arrested her boyfriend and Srihari at the hotel. He pleaded guilty to two charges of abetment of rape and one charge of abetment of sexual assault by penetration while another 54 charges, which included making obscene films and insulting the modesty of two other women, were taken into consideration.

In closing, Deputy Public Prosecutor Eunice Lau had initially asked for 25 years in jail and said that the accused “selfishly prioritised his sexual gratification at the victim’s expense, and flagrantly breached the trust she had reposed in him”. For Srihari, his trial will commence in January 2019.
That’s a really selfish act and you should always seek consent first before doing anything like that!
