Cockroach-infested trains have been highlighted in a recent video when a netizen revealed that our LRTs are full of them in footage shared on social media.
Shared on various Facebook pages in Malaysia as well as Singapore, disgusting images of roaches hiding in the dark crevices of the train, and one in particular, moving about in an empty train, seriously questions just how filthy our trains are.
To give you an idea how bad the situation is, we have included both videos caught by netizens below.
The train, believed to be making its way from Gombak, Selangor was believed to be empty at the time of the incident.
Surely a bane for passengers who are afraid of cockroaches in the near future, both videos which have garnered more than 14k views witness netizens voicing their anger at the lack of cleanliness of the LRT.
One netizen commented that the cleaners/cleaning service may not have bothered to disinfect the train once it stops after its shift while some have blamed the issue on Malaysians who ignore rules such as no eating allowed on the train.
Imagine a cockroach creeping up your pants on that long train ride home or even worse dropping on you while you laze on one of the train’s seats. Yuck!
We sincerely hope that those responsible for addressing hygiene and cleanliness issues on our trains to take things a little more seriously in the future.
