This is some Final Destination stuff! Thankfully, the woman driving the Myvi escaped unhurt.
Yesterday, a freak accident happened in KL where a concrete slab from a construction site smashed onto a car. The driver escaped was inches away from certain death but thankfully got out of the accident with just an injured hand.
However, it seems that that is not the only freak accident that happened yesterday. As reported by Bernama, another accident involving a construction piece happened at 5.45pm yesterday when a huge chunk of a metal crane smashed onto a Perodua Myvi in PJ.
This time, the piece was from a trailer which was transporting it to a construction site.
The accident happened in Jalan SS2/24, Petaling Jaya and caused the roof, front and other parts of the car to incur serious damages. Thankfully again, the driver, a 25 year old woman, escaped unharmed.
Initial investigation suggest that the tower crane which the trailer was transporting knocked into two telephone poles along the road. This prompted the huge metal chunk to fall off the trailer.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal commented on the accident,
“Members of the public rushed to provide assistance to the victim and help control the traffic situation,”
An investigation paper was opened under Rules 19 of the Road Traffic Rules 166/59 after the victim lodged a police report. The trailer driver has yet to do the same.
The frequency of this freak accidents are alarming! Stay safe out there and drive carefully yeah.
