One of the things that we look out for in the toilet overseas is… hear this out – bidets. Finding a bidet in foreign countries is definitely a huge relief, but what happens when someone who has never used it before “encounters” one in a public toilet?
She installs one in her own washroom.
Recently, a Serbian YouTuber, David Vujanic visited Qatar, where he discovered the bidet in the hotel toilet. He was absolutely astonished by the discovery and in his tweet, he said,
“I am absolutely horrified we only use toilet paper in the UK/Europe. This is the best thing ever man.”
David mentioned that he has used one in France but it was too big. The one he used in Qatar was more functional and easily adaptable.
“Will be investing in one when I’m back in London. My bum is very thankful.”
His tweet gained a lot of responses, but one particular response gained the attention of fellow Malaysians as our country was mentioned in the tweet. A foreigner who visited Egypt and Malaysia in the past revealed that the discovery of the bidet made her install one in her own bathroom.

The gold bidet that she has certainly looks atas! In one of her replies, she also mentioned that the bidet has a built-in thermostat, and the water runs at 38 degrees Celcius.
David’s tweet and the foreigner’s response have gained much attention from Malaysians, with some of the expressing their excitement that our country is mentioned in foreign tweets.
A netizen has since created a meme to illustrate what has been referenced to our country, which includes the king of the fruits, the alleged king of the road, Nasi Lemak, the multicultural society, and of course, how could we miss the bidet?
Another netizen hilariously responded with a meme as he found the tweets to be “epic”.
“Holding myself from being accused of being obsessive about having the name of my country mentioned.”
“We have this everywhere in Malaysia, and it’s common. Never knew this thing is a luxury in Europe. So does that mean Malaysia is on par with Europe?”
A netizen hilariously told her that water hose works better.
A netizen also took the time to highlight how clean her bathroom looks.
“Malaysia again. I’m proud.”
Fellow Malaysians, if you’ve visited foreign countries, have you ever had trouble finding a bidet? Do you think bidets should be made available everywhere in the world?
