From now until 1 May, celebrate a Raya Meriah Max at MyTOWN Shopping Centre KL with nostalgic décor, performances, workshops and more!

For the month of Raya, come one, come all to MyTOWNKL for a jolly Raya shopping experience that will surely take you back to the olden days of celebrating Aidilfitri in your hometown! Here, you’ll get to mingle among eye-catching décor, enjoy mesmerising performances and participate in numerous activities to elevate your festivities!

1. Explore the traditional kampung décor area and 3D jetty photo corner!

What’s a Hari Raya celebration without kampung nostalgia, kan? At MyTOWN Shopping Centre, shoppers can immerse in installations inspired by traditional Malay village houses, which are synonymous with the Raya festive season! Complete with a traditional panggung performing area, these decorations feature traditional wooden panels, contemporary shapes and colourful batik fabric that will evoke memories of yonder days at your kampung!

To add to the festive décor, they also have a 3D kampung jetty photo corner for you to capture joyful Raya moments with your loved ones! So make sure to check out these nostalgic IG-worthy displays before the campaign ends this 1 May!

 

2. Deliver festive greetings to your loved ones with beautiful postcards!

Speaking of nostalgia, MyTOWNKL wants to revive the tradition of sending Raya postcards to your loved ones! Made by the skilful illustrators at Artbysong, you can get one of their locally and beautifully made postcards to send Raya greetings to faraway friends and family members!

Plus, through MyTOWNKL’s collaboration with Pos Malaysia, you can even use their pop-up post office (complete with a retro mailbox!) to help send your festive greetings! So don’t miss this opportunity to deliver heartfelt Raya messages to your loved ones for this season!

 

3. Watch and join exciting dance and musical performances!

To really make things meriah, MyTOWNKL will showcase a bunch of special performances to amp up the Hari Raya celebration! From Joget Lambak to Kuda Kepang with LED, this lineup of spectacular dance and music performances will surely lift shoppers’ spirits for Raya this year!

For your reference, these performances will take place at these times every weekend from 15 April to 1 May!:

  • 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm – Mascot Appearance 
  • 3:00 pm – Zapin Contemporary 
  • 3:30 pm – Joget Lambak 
  • 4:30 pm – Contemporary Dance 
  • 5:30 pm – Kids Dance & Workshop by UCSI Dance Studio (24 and 30 April only
  • 8:00 pm – Nyanyian Raya 
  • 8:30 pm – Kuda Kepang with LED 


Speaking of music, MyTOWN went all out on that front by collaborating with talented local composers, Zimi Sofaz and Kamarul Arifin Baharun and artist Shiha Zikir in producing a trending Raya tune! You can check out the tune on Shiha Zikir’s TikTok or better yet, join the fun by participating in the #MeriahnyaRayaTikTokDanceChallenge!

It’s super easy, too! Just post a TikTok video of yourself dancing to the Meriahnya Raya tune and show off your most meriah dance moves to stand a chance to win MyTOWNKL shopping vouchers AND you’ll get to berbuka and shop with Shiha Zikir too!

Not only that but every weekend from 15 April to 1 May, you can also participate in Nyanyian Raya and sing your heart out to spread the Raya joy! Make sure to register for Nyanyian Raya via their Facebook event page before they run out of slots!

4. Meet and greet the famous singer and actress Shiha Zikir!

Apart from standing a chance to berbuka with her, you can also make your last weekend before Raya more special with a meet-and-greet session with Shiha Zikir! For those not in the know, Shiha Zikir is a local singer and actress who is most well-known as a participant in Malaysian reality shows Akademi Fantasia and Mentor.

So, if you’re a huge fan of her work, make sure to block out your schedule this weekend to meet and greet Shiha Zikir herself at MyTOWNKL!

 

5. Get involved in Raya craft workshops with Craftomon’s!

Hosted by Craftomon’s Art, Craft & Design, shoppers can get on their creative side this Raya with a variety of crafting activities that the whole fam can enjoy! Add a little flair to your Raya decorations by making your own coaster at the Table Coaster workshop or wau your guests with your DIY kite which you can make at Wau Painting & Making workshop! Wanna craft something you can use daily? Pun boleh with their Canvas Bag Painting workshop!
