When it comes to our elected representatives, some of the factors we can judge them on how hard working they are includes things such as their parliamentary attendance, their support in the grassroots and more.

To be classified as a good MP, a balance of the above things are needed to ensure that all grounds are touched upon and focusing on one single aspect doesn’t necessarily mean that you’d be seen as hardworking.

Recently, Harakahdaily, which is the news portal founded by the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), shared the monthly report card of PAS MP Datuk Seri Idris Ahmad.

In the report card, it outlined some of the things Idris had done throughout December. This includes things such as:

  • Meeting up with governmental agencies (3)
  • Visiting and assisting the elderly/OKU/orphans (82)
  • Visiting families who have suffered a death (15)
  • Visiting and assisting victims of natural disasters (6)
  • Attended wedding ceremonies (34)
  • Attended appreciation/aqiqahs/tahlils (17)
  • Other programmes (5)

All of this was in the month of December.

So many wedding ceremonies!

The post has since gone viral on social media as netizens took to the comments to poke fun at how ‘hardworking’ Idris was in the month of December.

“This is not a report card, this is a visitor log in report.”

“Is he an MP or the village leader? Going to weddings everyday,” pointed out a user.

Meanwhile, others said that he could’ve used the time to do more productive things that could actually benefit the rakyat.

“If like this, even I can do it. Is there really nothing that could help develop the area, attracts foreign investments or any projects that could contribute to the futures of the youth.”

What do you think of Idris’ report card? Could he have done things that were much more beneficial? Let us know in the comments.
