This incident was discovered on December 12 (Monday) at around 1:05am, as the Criminal Investigation Division of the Machang District Police Headquarters (IPD) received information regarding a drone that appeared to have invaded the prison area.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun shared that the drone was believed to be used by its operator to bring in prohibited items into the prison.

“The search carried out on the car and the 3 suspects led to the discovery of 41 small, compressed packages suspected to be tobacco, 20 ball firecrackers, 13 packages of tobacco and a remote control device for a model RC123 drone,” he added.

“Also found were 5 mobile phone units, 2 power bank units, a machete, a sickle, a digital scale, 2 rolls of iron wire, plastic wrap and 3 roles of yellow nylon rope.”

Muhammad Zaki went on to explain that they were detained and investigated for offenses under Section 447 of the Penal Code, Section 8 of the Explosives Act 1957 and Section 6 of the Corrosive Substance, Explosives and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958.
