Getting through training for any special forces is tough, and not everyone pulls it off. It really takes a lot of hard work and sticking to it to make it through.
In a recent video posted by Berita Tentera Darat Malaysia, shows a man who has just completed and passed the 12-week commando training course.
The ONLY Chinese student to complete the course
Lieutenant Chan Ming Youn from the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Ranger Regiment (2 RRD) has made history as the only Chinese student to successfully complete the training course.
At a parade held on April 28, at Bertutu Laut Beach, Sungai Udang, Melaka, the 25-year-old, along with 9 other officers and 60 other ranks, was awarded the prestigious green berets and commando knives, marking the completion of their training.
“Maintaining the pride of wearing this green beret”
Chan revealed how he had no knowledge about commandos when he 1st joined, but the initial step introduced him to the military world.
“My aim is to keep serving, get even better at what I do, and aim high to be a top-notch commando,” he added.
Major General Adi Ridzwan Abdullah, Commander of the Special Operations Group (21 GGK), took the opportunity to remind the new commandos about what it means to wear the green beret.
“Protect the integrity of this green beret by avoiding actions that would diminish its value, as doing so would undermine the efforts and sacrifices of those who have worked hard to earn it.”
