Life could go both ways for retirees and it’s completely up to them to decide what kind of life they’d like to have after hustling for the past few decades. Some would like to live a slow and quiet life, while others would want to travel the world and experience different things.

Just recently, a man named Phang has shared his story of how he has decided to plan a trip for his mom and a few aunties to experience the life of an actress. He mentioned that his mother is an avid fan of TV programs, and she seemed a little bored after retiring.

“I decided to plan a trip to Heng Dian, a man-made town in Zhe Jiang for movies and TV shows. I managed to get about 15 other aunties and 1 of the aunty’s husband to join this short trip”, he said.

Phang mentioned that the trip lasted for 3 days, and the highlight of the trip was definitely when they were able to hire an entire film crew to film the reenactment of the famous palace drama aired in 2011 called Empresses in the Palace.

As the show contains a large number of females, all 16 aunties were asked to draw lots to see which character they’ve gotten. The uncle who was dragged into the trip wasn’t happy initially but as he was the only man, he was given the role as the emperor and safe to say, he enjoyed the trip.

“They only reenacted that iconic scene where they had to conduct a paternity test by dripping blood into water. The scene was only for about 22 minutes, and they only took roughly half a day to complete the scene”, Phang added.

When asked how much they spent, Phang mentioned that each person had to spend about $4,000RMB (RM2,600) that covered all expenses during the trip and the total cost for 17 people were about $68,000 (RM45,000).

The scene that they reenacted was then posted on B Zhan and has reached over 100 million views.

Many netizens also commented in the comments section mentioning how it was definitely funny to watch and that they’re glad the aunties had fun.
