Nobody wishes to have their house burgled but even if it were to happen, the thing people would be most concerned about is not their belongings, but their safety.
Luckily, this teenager in Shah Alam was not seriously injured when a burglar who had been hiding in his house’s kitchen stabbed him in the stomach.
In the incident that took place on October 15 at about 12.10 in the afternoon, the 15-year-old victim was at home with his 17-year-old brother when he encountered the burglar.
According to Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd. Iqbal Ibrahim, the victim went to the kitchen to drink water before coming across the male suspect who was hiding by the washing machine.
“Then there was a fight and the burglar stabbed stabbed the victim in the stomach using a screwdriver. The victim was taken to Shah Alam Hospital (HSA) for further treatment. No losses were reported,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd. Iqbal said, as a result of the investigation, it was found that the suspect entered the house through the unlocked back door with theft as a motive.
The suspect only carried a weapon, the screwdriver, believed to have been brought to help open the door.
“The victim is now in stable condition and has been placed in HSA’s normal ward. He only suffered a small wound to his abdomen.”
That must have been so traumatising for the kid!
