Fear and concern may be some of the biggest reasons to call for some drastic actions, and for around 127 European tourists who were visiting Malaysia, they have requested with the Malaysian government to allow them to stay here temporarily, reports Astro Awani.

According to the Pahang Head of Police Datuk Abd Jalil Hassan, as many as 85 European tourists remain on Pulau Tioman, while another 42 are in Cameron Highlands.

It is understood that these tourists were vacationing in Malaysia prior to the enforcement of the Movement Control Order, and have requested permission to remain in Malaysia until conditions improve.

“We have conducted health screenings for them with help from authorities of the Ministry of Health in Rompin and Cameron. Their tests have all come back negative.

They have all also requested with the immigration officials to allow them to stay until conditions improve back in their home countries.” he said.

For the time being, it is said that these European tourists will remain in their respective hotels and continue to abide by the regulations of the Movement Control Order until further notice.
