Yesterday (August 12), a 108-year-old woman from Terengganu reportedly cast her vote at the SK Pasir Raja polling station in Terengganu.
The woman named Munah Adam, who uses a wheelchair, arrived at the polling station around 11 am accompanied by her son, Adnan Apil, who shared that his mother was eager to participate in the electoral process after learning about the importance of voting for the people of Terengganu.
Speaking with Berita Harian, Adnan shared his mother’s request, “When I asked her if she wanted to go and vote or not, she was very enthusiastic and asked me to take her to the polling station.”
He proudly revealed that this marked the 15th time Munah has voted.
During the 2022 General Elections (GE15), she walked herself to the polling station and cast her vote, however, she suffered a fall from her bed last December leaving her unable to walk.
Despite that, her spirit remained strong, and she continued to engage in conversations and even joke around with her family.
When asked about any practices his mother follows, Adnan mentioned that his mother is like any other person but enjoys eating rice with traditional side dishes.
Kudos to Muna for practicing her civic duty and we hope that she lives a long and healthy life!
