Yang di-Pertuan Agong Expresses Amazement at ‘Extraordinary’ Merdeka Day Celebration This Year

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today congratulated the federal government for the lively and “extraordinary” 2023 Merdeka Day celebration ceremony in Putrajaya yesterday.

In a statement by Istana Negara, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong thanked the multi-racial rakyat who attended the historic celebration, saying that he is touched by the incredible support.

Moreover, His Majesty expressed his amazement at the impressive shows put on by all contingents and participants from various age groups which exude patriotism and love for the nation.

His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah further decreed that yesterday’s National Day celebration means a lot to him and Her Majesty Tunku Azizah Maimunah Iskandariah, whereby this would be the final year they will celebrate Independence Day as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong.


Their Majesties added that the incredible Merdeka Day celebration yesterday would be a sweet memory that will always be cherished.

Furthermore, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong commanded the unity and patriotism shown at the celebration in Putrajaya and other events nationwide yesterday and invited all Malaysians to join together and pray for our nation’s sovereignty to always be preserved. Daulat Tuanku! ?
