It was a joyous occasion when a woman discovered that her soon-to-be daughter-in-law was actually her long-lost biological daughter.

According to 8 World News, the woman was at her son’s wedding in Suzhou, China on 31 March when she noticed a birthmark on the bride’s hand. The elderly woman realised that the mark looked very familiar and began suspecting that the bride could be her biological daughter, who had gone missing when she was a child.

The woman was nervous at first, but couldn’t help but ask her in-laws: “Did you adopt this child?”

The family was shocked by this question as they never told anyone this secret.

The woman then explained that the birthmark on the bride’s hand was exactly the same as that of her own daughter, and after the family confirmed the fact that she was adopted, the bride began crying tears of joy.

She said that finding her biological parents was a more joyous occasion than getting married.

However, she became a little worried as she would be marrying her own brother, but her mother revealed that her son was also adopted!

According to Oriental Daily, the family said they found the girl on the roadside more than 20 years ago and decided to adopt her and raise her as their own daughter.

The woman, who had searched for her lost daughter but to no avail, later decided to adopt a boy.
