You can always rely on a member of the public to step up to help you during moments of need. Although we are used to seeing food delivery riders step up to help stop snatch thieves, it seems that sometimes, luxury car drivers will also step up when it is needed.

In a video which has since gone viral, a Mercedes driver ramming his car into a thief’s motorcycle to stop him from escaping. In the video, the snatch thief was seen on his knees crying as he was being apprehended by the authorities after he was caught stealing a woman’s handbag in the middle of a highway.

The incident apparently took place in Penang.

According to the caption, a Mercedes driver (the same man recording the video) had chased after the thief and rammed his car into the thief’s motorcycle to prevent him from escaping.

“This is what you get for snatching! You’re only sorry you got caught,” he yelled at the mugger.

The snatch thief was seen being surrounded by other road users and witnesses who were helping to detain him until the police arrived. Meanwhile, the two women in the video were most likely the victims of the theft.

An unexpected surprise

The video has since gone viral and netizens have praised the Mercedes driver for stepping up.

“Luckily it was a Mercedes which hit you. If it was a Hilux then you wouldn’t be crying like this.”

“I salute the abang Mercedes. He must have been so angry, that’s why he hit you like that,” said a user.
