Do you remember what you were taught to do before crossing the road? Look left AND right.

Sadly, this man forgot to do that and faced the consequences.

On August 3, 2022, a Route 300 Rapid KL bus got into an accident with a pedestrian near the Jalan Munshi Abdullah hub in front of the Wilayah Complex around 2:20 pm.

The victim was a Chinese man in his 30s who suffered injuries to his face and nose. The victim was taken to the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital by an ambulance.

According to a video shared in the Facebook group INFO BERITA SEMASA, it appears that both the bus driver and the pedestrian did not see each other before the collision.

The man was crossing the road when he walked onto the path of the bus and got knocked down.

According to Rapid KL, seven passengers were on the bus at the time of the incident. Passengers, as well as the bus captain, did not suffer any injuries.

“Rapid Bus will provide full cooperation with the police to investigate the incident,” the statement added.

Netizens defend the bus driver

In the comments, many netizens believed that the pedestrian was completely at fault in this case.

“The bus captain is innocent. If the pedestrian brings the case to court, he’ll definitely lose. The CCTV evidence is clearly present,” said one netizen.

They expressed appreciation for the presence of video footage of the incident because, without them, the bus driver and Rapid KL could be heavily blamed.

“Saw the video. The pedestrian just walked quickly without looking left and right. Pity the bus; luckily, there’s a video. If not, the bus will surely be blamed,” another said.

One netizen pointed out that the pedestrian was probably confused about the vehicle’s direction.

That looked painful. We will definitely be looking left and right more than once before crossing the road next time!
