Most times, traffic news about people acting up on the road can be traced back to them being provoked by another road user.

Of course, road rage is not an excuse for aggressive behaviour. However, it certainly creates a more comprehensive picture of incidents.

With that said, the police has arrested a man who was seemingly throwing a tin can at vehicles and road users in Kota Bharu, Kelantan for no reason.

In a video of the incident that was recorded on September 6 at about 5.40pm, the man can be seen throwing the tin can at vehicles at the Kijang traffic light area at Jalan Hamzah before retreating to the road side.

When his victims drove off, he would do everything again.

Kota Bharu Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the suspect was arrested at 8.40am during a patrol by the Kota Bharu Police Station Task Force members who came across the man.

According to him, the police took action soon after receiving complaints from the public.

“We initially monitored the area for 30 minutes but did not find the man involved.”

“Members of the Tourist Unit and Kota Bharu Police Station Crime Prevention were then mobilised. The suspect was found during the patrols,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said there was a slight struggle but the suspect whose address is in Kampung Paloh, Pintu Geng, was successfully arrested and referred to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for further action.
