National Day is two days away, and rehearsals are in full swing!
Just about an hour ago, a video of a crucial mistake spotted at the National Day Parade rehearsals this morning at Dataran Merdeka started circulating on the Internet and going viral.
The incident occurred during the Jalur Gemilang raising ceremony when attendees sang the Negaraku song.
It turns out that there was an error in raising the Jalur Gemilang flag, causing it to fly upside down in the wind.
It is alleged that the flag-raising team was aware of the mistake but could not do anything until the song, Negaraku, finished playing.
This was done out of respect for the national anthem and in accordance with ceremonial protocols.
As soon as the song ended, the Jalur Gemilang hoisting team took appropriate action to correct the orientation of the Jalur Gemilang.
The raising of the Jalur Gemilang has become a tradition for the Royal Malaysian Navy, and this incident was unexpected.
In the comments, netizens lament the carelessness of those responsible for raising the flag.
“Double-check next time. Don’t be overconfident.”
“That’s embarrassing. Even the flag can be raised upside down.”

Well, that is what rehearsals are for, right? To spot any potential errors and take extra measures to ensure they are not repeated.
