The Federal Highway connecting most of Klang Valley is one of the only expressways in Malaysia that have a designated motorcycle lane.
While motorcyclists using the main highway instead of the designated lane are a common sight, the same can’t be said about cars using the motorcycle lane.
Firstly, it’s illegal for cars to use the lane. Secondly, the narrow road could pose a serious risk to the car and motorcycles using the lane.
Well, a car was recently spotted using the Federal Highway’s motorcycle lane in Petaling Jaya, whereby a recording of the incident has been circulating on social media.
The 58-second video was reposted by Twitter user @nanmajoi8715, showing the car, a white Honda City casually driving on the motorcycle lane while motorcyclists had to ride carefully to avoid the vehicle.
The video is believed to have been recorded by a motorcyclist who was behind the vehicle and eventually overtook it, catching a glimpse of the driver in the process.
