Why could you even abandon your own mother?!

Yesterday (20th October), a post about a woman abandoned by her daughter went viral on Facebook.

Reportedly, this woman’s daughter dropped her off at a grocery store in Taman Sungai Kob to buy some stuff, but after a few hours, she still didn’t come and pick up her mother.

Concerned people around her then asked her where she stays, to which she replied Pantai Prai, which is about 29km away from the grocery store, while her daughter stays in Penang.

When asked about where her daughter is, she said that her daughter sent her to this grocery store. When she got down from the car, her daughter asked her to take the bag of clothes with her and told her that she would be going to the carwash.

However, after hours of waiting at the grocery store, her daughter did not come back and her daughter’s car was not at the carwash opposite the street.

The woman didn’t really have a lot on her and is reliant on money from the welfare department every month, but her children are the ones holding onto her identity card.

People there were really worried, and then they decided to take her to the Sungai Kob Police Station. The police tried to contact her daughter and it was a success! However, her daughter said,

“I don’t want to take care of her anymore.”

The police then had no choice but to forward the case to the welfare department.

Not much is known as to what happened after that, but the same user then posted an update and said that the mak cik was able to go back to her house and reunite with her family.

No matter what, it is still wrong to abandon the person who took care of you for so many years! We hope that the mak cik will be treated better now, and she will be able to live out her life surrounded by love.
