As we are quite far from the continent of Africa, their food rarely reaches our shores.
However, with the rise of TikTok and short-form content, we were able to see how they live and what kind of food they consume and of course, that piqued our interest.
In a recent video on TikTok uploaded by a Cheras food court, we see one of the stall operators there talking about his origins and what food they serve.

The man of Nigerian roots operates the stall with his wife and they serve authentic African food. One of the Malaysian favourites is the beef stew and a kind of stir-fried vegetable.
It is said that he was a pastor so when he came to Malaysia, he ran a ministry. However, due to the pandemic, they were unable to sustain themselves and turned to selling food.
Their journey was not an easy one as they were unable to find places that accepted them.
“I approached some restaurants but they did not accept us but this restaurant (Big Three Kopitiam) accepted us.”
“In the beginning, there were only a few customers. After that, some of the people started eating our food,” the man said when asked about the difficulties that he had faced.
Speaking about people that he would like to thank, he says that he is most grateful for God and his wife.
“If you don’t have a good wife, then that would be the worst thing you will face in life.”
Lastly, he thanked the management of the kopitiam, “They are very nice people and because of them, I love Malaysia.”
The food certainly looks good. If you feel like trying something new, maybe you should pay them a visit!
