Do you love Gong Cha enough to have your wedding there? Well, this couple absolutely adores the boba joint and it definitely shows!

Leonard Pang, 25, posted his Gong Cha wedding pictures in the mega Facebook group, Subtle Asian Traits and it has gotten the attention of many netizens around the world for how quirky it is.

We were so amused when we saw the photos that we just had to have a talk with Leonard about the wedding venue choice and to get to know the couple’s love story.

How it all began

Leonard Pang, 25, is originally from Singapore and had moved to Australia in 2019 to pursue his studies. Gina who was 20 at that time, moved to the same uni accommodations where Leonard was staying in.

The couple met during one of the events held at the uni accommodations and sparks flew between them.

“We started dating not long after and I proposed to her in May 2021.”

But why Gong Cha though?

When asked why they chose Gong Cha as their wedding venue, Leonard told us:

“It was our regular paktor spot when we started dating and we made many fond memories there.”

He added that with Covid restrictions in place, his family couldn’t fly in from Singapore to witness his marriage. So, they wanted a low-key and small wedding and they thought that Gong Cha would be the perfect place for it.

“The entire wedding was reasonably cheap and relatively stress-free. Some of my friends and coworkers were surprised about how carefree we were in the days leading up to the wedding.”

During the wedding, the couple served up some sausage buns as light refreshments for their close friends.

Just do what you want!

Leonard told WORLD OF BUZZ that people should just do what they want for their own wedding be it having the ceremony at a Gong Cha or something else that people might deem too mundane for a wedding ceremony.

“Your wedding should be about the celebration of two people coming together and deciding to be with each other forever – everything else is secondary, so just do what you want.”

Gong Cha Wedding

We wholeheartedly agree with that! We wish the couple happiness in their marriage life and that they will continue to grow together.
