A wedding is certainly a costly affair and sometimes, it’s just not worth the amount of money.

For a practical couple in the Philippines, they decided that they wouldn’t splurge on their wedding and chose to have a simple one instead.

Meet Rian Eran Baynosa and Rhaqueza Vicente Mosende from Kitcharao, Mindanao.

The couple has recently gone viral via a series of photos depicting their simple and practical wedding reception. Said reception was held in a famous Filipino fast-food chain restaurant named Mang Inasal that is famed for its chicken meals.

It was reported by Sugbo that the couple originally wanted to get married in 2020 in their hometown but were unable to due to the pandemic. As both of them were trapped in Lapu-Lapu City, they decided to have their wedding there, surrounded by their friends and neighbours. Their family members couldn’t join them due to the Covid-19 restrictions and the high travel fee.

The couple also said that they did not have the funds for a very elaborate reception, hence, it resulted in a simple and functional wedding reception where everyone had a good meal and a good time.

Speaking to the photographer Babse Dondon, he told WORLD OF BUZZ that it was the first time in his career of six years that he encountered a wedding like this with the bride, groom and entourage still dressed in their best attire at a fast-food restaurant.

“It was really surprising and I’m happy to have encountered this experience in my 6 years as wedding photographer.”

The photographer commended the couple as well as he had met many other couples who got into debt just to have a lavish wedding.

“If you have a tight budget, plan a small reception within your means so that you won’t have debt afterwards. Save the money for your future family.”

“Don’t practice: Happy now, cry later.”

Babse has also said that this couple’s low-cost wedding has shown everyone that beauty really is in simplicity.

We couldn’t agree more! After all, a marriage is a union between two individuals who love each other, hence, nothing is more important than the both of them. We wish the couple well and that they will have a fruitful and happy marriage!
