A few days ago (10 April), Shin Min Daily News reported that a 63-year-old’s body was found motionless inside his home.
The victim, surnamed Guo, lived alone in a 2-room flat at 125A Tengah Drive.
Sister dreamt of his death 1 week prior
When speaking to the sister, she told the Chinese news portal that eerily, she dreamt of her brother passing away with a cut on the back of his hand.
He was uncontactable for 10 days, but she said he often is bad at replying to calls or messages. He also shared that his friend invited him to Genting Highlands so she assumed that the trip may be another reason for his unresponsiveness.
She told reporters that she had bought some food to visit him
Upon reaching the flat, she detected a strange foul smell coming from her brother’s unit.
She noticed that her brother’s walking stick was wedged between the wooden door and the metal gate, while his windows were left open.
As she found him lying motionless inside his home, she immediately called the police and Guo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing to find the cause of his death.
This is the third case of an elderly man passing away in his flat in April
Prior to this case, on 2 and 3 April, two men were found dead in their HDB flats located in Hougang and Yishun respectively.
One was aged 67, the other 52.
From preliminary investigations, the police labelled both cases as unnatural deaths and did not suspect any foul play.
