A video has been making its rounds on social media recently, showing the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) raiding a hotel room for an unmarried Muslim couple to realise that it was all just a misunderstanding.
In the video, JAIS enforcement officers can be seen in the midst of conducting the raid only to find that the “unmarried couple” inside the hotel room is actually male friends, with one of them having a feminine voice.
Shared by TikTok user @jiey01 on the platform, the video has garnered over 755,500 views and more than 34,200 likes.
The text overlaid on the video said that JAIS conducted the raid because one of the men had a voice that sounded like a real woman, while the caption said,
“Who called the Islamic Religious Department?”
In the video, there were at least 3 men who were staying inside the room when the raid took place, with the individual recording can be heard laughing at the situation they found themselves in.
As he laughed, the individual can also be heard saying,
“Pencegah Maksiat (Anti-vice raid)? No, no, no, he (the man’s friend) has the voice of a woman. Who called the Islamic Religious Department? Ya Allah my God.”
It is believed that an anonymous individual had called JAIS to report that an unmarried Muslim couple was staying in the room after hearing a female voice.
JAIS enforcement officers then came to the scene, with at least 6 enforcement officers spotted both inside and outside of the room in the video.
In the comments, many were amused at the absurdity of the situation. One commenter joked that JAIS got “pranked” by the anonymous call while another felt for the friends staying at the hotel room for being put in such a situation.
Besides that, another commenter said that one can sue the individual who called JAIS for slander.
