An elderly man’s acquaintance with a foreign woman through Facebook Messenger turned into a nightmare when she threatened to share nude videos of him.

He then ended up suffering a loss of RM44,500 to the suspect in an effort to prevent her from distributing the video.

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the Jempol Ditrict Police Chief, Superintendent Hoo Chang Hook shared that the victim, who is a government pensioner, met the suspect who used the account name ‘Ayuni Seri’ on Facebook Messenger on May 29 (Wednesday).

“The suspect then asked the victim for his phone number and started contacting him via WhatsApp to chat, using the phone number 62821-7910-6069. However, the victim ignored this. Then, on June 3 (Monday), the suspect contacted the victim thought a video call while naked,” he said.

The suspect asked the elderly man to take off his clothes, to which he took off his pants and showed her his private parts.

“The video call lasted about a minute and after that, the suspect sent the video to the victim. Out of fear of the video being revealed, the victim deleted the video,” he added.

Though, the next day, the victim once again received the same video from the suspect and asked for a payment of 15 million Rupiah (RM4,315.25) for the video to be deleted from her end.

The victim shared that the woman also threatened to spread the video to his family and acquaintances if he did not give her the money.

“The victim tried to negotiate and the suspect asked him to make a payment of RM2,000. On the following day until June 7, the victim was threatened by the suspect and he made 5 transactions to 3 different accounts, totaling in RM42,500 through remittance,” Chang Hook explained.

Despite this, the threats still continued and the victim was then asked to deposit RM58,500 to solve the problem once and for all.

Though, he told the suspect that there was no more money and ignored any more messages from the foreign woman, ultimately making a police report on Saturday (June 15).

“Further investigations are still being carried out and the case is being investigated according to Section 384 of the Penal Code.”
