Haji Razman Zakaria, the Chief of Perak PAS, claimed that Hannah Yeoh is the daughter of “a rich man,” who was the founder of YTL Corporation Berhad, a major infrastructure developer.
Hannah Yeoh, the Minister of Youth & Sports, quickly responded to this claim in a brief post on X, where she pointed out that “not all Yeohs are related.”
“That was a mistake on my part”
Razman responded to the backlash in a Facebook post, justifying his claims by pointing out that the viral video had been edited by the media to turn the matter into a headline.
The Chief of Perak PAS, acknowledging the controversy, admitted that during his speech, he had inadvertently spread inaccurate information regarding Hannah Yeoh’s “family tree,” which he now recognised as a mistake.
“The information I shared about Hannah Yeoh was a mistake on my part,” he said.
“Please await a letter from my lawyer”
While Razman did apologise and admit he was wrong, Hannah took to Facebook today (January 28) to address the video once again, where he made various accusations against her.
She also made it clear that he’ll be getting a letter (of demand) from her lawyer.
In the post, she wrote:
“The statement made by Razman Zakaria, the Commissioner of PAS Perak, accusing me of various things lasted more than a minute. Please await a letter from my lawyer. Defamation should not be allowed to become a norm, especially by someone who claims to be religious.”
PKR Communications Director disagrees with her actions
However, PKR Communications Director, Lee Chean Chung, stepped in and said that while he supports Hannah, he doesn’t agree with her decision to take legal action against Razman.
He posted on Facebook:
“I don’t agree with Hannah’s decision to take legal action against PAS Perak Commissioner, Razman Zakaria. This is because Razman has already publicly apologised to Hannah and admitted that his attempt to link her with the corporate figure or YTL company was unintentional.”
