Penang is said to be one of the best states in Malaysia thanks to their delicious food and gorgeous tourists spots that are NOT OVERRATED.

But, despite all of this, the people of Penang are still Malaysians and you know what Malaysians love to do? Dump their rubbish wherever they please.

The KiwiwiPenang TikTok page recently shared a post in regards to the Pinang River becoming one of the most dirtiest and smelliest rivers in Malaysia due to the substantial amount of rubbish being dumped into it. They also begged Penangites to stop dumping rubbish and to make a report to the authorities should they see someone else doing it.

They wrote, “The public is urged to report to the authorities if they see anyone dumping rubbish into the Pinang River.”

In their post, they explained that a whopping 1 ton of rubbish is collected from the river every day!

On top of that, the rubbish has been affecting the livelihoods of fishermen.

It’s truly saddening to know that the irresponsible actions of those who litter are affecting people who use the river to make a living.
