PDRM Investigates Man on Terengganu Road Threatening Noisy Mat Rempits with Sticks on Hari Raya

Video of literal road rage on Hari Raya Aidilfitri went viral in our country recently, showing a man threatening a group of ‘mat rempits’ or illegal street racers that were causing a ruckus on the road.

The video, which has been circulating on social media, including in this post by Inforoadblock on Facebook showed a man in Kemaman, Terengganu wearing a black shirt and kain pelikat threatening the mat rempit gang with a couple of objects.

The objects were believed to be wooden sticks, with the man using them to threaten the biker gang that passed him on the road.

In the latter parts of the video, the man can be seen calling out the mat rempits to come near him while brandishing the objects.

Since the video went viral, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has confirmed that it is investigating the man for his actions on the road, which was revealed by Kemaman Police as being at Kilometre 157 at Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuatan.

As reported by Harian Metro, the police also confirmed that the incident happened on Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Saturday (22 April 2023) at 6.45pm.

Besides that, PDRM is also tracing all of the parties involved in the incident for further investigation, with the case being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
