PDRM: CCTV Shows No Foul Play in Case of Woman Who Fell from Penang Mall Parking Lot Before Honeymoon

A 29-year-old woman recently fell to her death from the 7th-floor parking lot of a mall in Penang, just one day before her honeymoon.

Her body was found at the unloading bay of the mall on Saturday (May 3), with her personal belongings still inside her car. A friend of hers revealed that the hotel and other travel plans for her honeymoon had already been confirmed, adding that the deceased couldn’t have taken her own life.

The deceased also texted her family members 40 minutes before her fall, asking them to buy food for her, indicating that she was planning to return home. The CCTV footage of the incident, however, revealed otherwise.

Southwest District Police Chief ACP Sazalee Adam said that the police found no criminal elements in the case, which has been classified as sudden death. The victim is said to have taken her own life at around noon on May 3 before her body was discovered at 12:44 PM by one of the workers who drove into the unloading bay.

Her cause of death was due to the multiple injuries sustained from the fall.
