PDRM Perak arrested one of their inspectors and five officers who were partying in a private gathering at an apartment in Ipoh earlier this morning (26 February). The officers were also suspected to be taking drugs.

Perak Police Chief, Commissioner Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, said in the raid by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN), Perak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) at about 1.30am, they also detained eight women, including three Indonesians, reported Astro Awani.

The police chief added that while they couldn’t find any drugs on the premise, all but one of the police inspectors and four officers were found positive for methamphetamine and ketamine. All the suspects were aged between 20 to 40 years old and are currently remanded for investigation under Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

“We do not compromise on officers involved in drug abuse and firm action will be taken just as arrests are made towards the public.”

This isn’t the first case of PDRM officers abusing their power. On 14 February, a woman came forward on social media claiming that a PDRM officer sexually harassed her at a roadblock and even forced her to give her phone number.
