Grieving is a tricky process. One minute you’re doing fine and soon, you find yourself being trapped in the memories again. One thing is for sure, it’s never easy especially when a death happens in the house.

6 years ago, Zulfarhan Osman was tortured to death at his college over laptop disputes. 6 of the accused were sentenced to 18 years of prison in late 2021, and Zulfarhan was only 21 when he met his demise. As for his parents, the grief continues, and it is hard for his mother to carry out daily tasks sometimes.

“I’m not using steam iron anymore”

Zulfarhan was tortured for days with a steam iron. The murder weapon has since brought trauma to the family, to the extent that they can’t even use a steam iron because it reminds them of how Zulfarhan was tortured to death.

Zulfarhan’s mother, Hawa, said that she already moved on and accepted her son’s death, but she could never be at peace with how he met his demise.

“He was alone when he died,” Hawa told Harian Metro.

When it comes to the perpetrators, Hawa made it clear that she is never going to forgive them for robbing away Zulfarhan’s life.

“I pray to God that the perpetrators will get what they deserve.”

The steam iron was not the only thing that caused trauma to the family. Hawa also said that since Zulfarhan’s death, the family avoided the route to his college. The place brings too many memories of Zulfarhan.

Zulfarhan died in June 2017 after he was tortured with steam iron 90 times. 6 of the bullies are currently serving prison sentences, while others have been sentenced to only 3 years of prison for harming the victim.
