Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, the wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, passed away at the age of 100 years old at the National Heart Institute (IJN) on 28 September.

Tun M Says he’s still not strong enough to return to work after wife’s passing
Tun M recently took to Facebook to thank everyone who helped with the funeral arrangements for his late wife, Tun Hasmah, and shared how touched he was by the continued prayers for her.
He also revealed that he has yet to return to the office as he is still recovering from the loss and does not feel “quite strong enough”.

“On behalf of my entire family, I would like to thank everyone who helped with the funeral arrangements. I am also deeply touched by the continuous prayers for my wife, Hasmah, to this day, whether at her grave or from people praying for her from wherever they may be.
“Over the past day or two, I have tried to return to the office, but I am still not quite strong enough,” he wrote.
He expressed gratitude for the many years he shared with Tun Hasmah
Despite the deep pain of losing his wife, Tun M shared that he remains grateful to the Almighty for the many years they spent together, especially as he reflects on his own stage of life.
“Amid this painful grief, I am reminded to remain grateful to the Almighty for blessing me with Hasmah’s companionship for so many years, until this stage of my life, when only a little time remains.
“I would also like to apologise if, during this period, I have failed to return anyone’s greetings, acknowledge their waves, or respond to their condolences,” he added.
