Bringing home-cooked meals that are prepared by your parents to work every day is not just about saving money, but also a happiness that not everyone has the luxury of enjoying.

One Malaysian woman, in particular, gets to save a lot as her mum is willing to drive to her workplace every day just to send her a hearty, freshly cooked lunch box.

“My mum runs a mixed rice stall, and it’s just 10 minutes away from my workplace. I told her not to do so but she insisted so I could save some money.”

Given how expensive the food near her workplace is, the woman agreed but she had more to share on her Xiao Hong Shu (RED) post.

All is well but the woman is annoyed at her colleagues who see the lunchboxes as a joke.

According to @铁饭网树洞?, her colleagues don’t only see that as troublesome but also consider the woman as a “mummy’s girl”.

“Do you want to join us for dinner? Or do you need to ask your mum first?” 1 of the colleagues teased her.

Another colleague also showed concern by asking if her mum is not tired from sending her freshly-cooked meals every day. The questions and the jokes, however, did not stop there.

The colleagues had the audacity to make fun of the situation and asked her,

“Do you need to run through your mum if you have a boyfriend?”

The woman admitted that she had noticed her colleagues laughing at her back whenever they saw her mum coming with the lunchbox.

“I am still considered a newbie here, so I don’t want to seem like I can’t take a joke if I respond to them.”

However, she can’t help but feel baffled about the ongoing situation.

“Is it that funny for a woman to receive lunchbox from her mum? Should I ask my mum to stop sending me?”

We’re sure that many of you are still relying on home-cooked food to avoid spending more at work. Look at it this way.

It’s a precious gift to still be able to taste your mum’s cooking at this age. Not everyone shares the same luxury.
