Love can sometimes make you do the strangest things – though in the cutest way possible of course! But one Malaysian wife may have just taken the cake for a wedding anniversary “present” that has set the standard for all gift givers moving forward.
Malaysian TikTok creator Zirah Jamal recently shared a surprise she organised for her husband when celebrating their first wedding anniversary. Sharing the moment to her TikTok account @kaklongtehais, the clip began with Zirah and her husband eating at a restaurant. However, her husband soon grows weary after seeing a large truck pass the eatery, as he sensed a surprise coming his way.
Not moments later does Zirah reveal that she planned a lion dance performance for her husband as a wedding anniversary gift from her.
Approaching the couple, a member from the lion dance troop wishes the duo a happy wedding anniversary, before the lion dance performance begins. Placing oranges on the floor, the lion dancers carve out a lovely heart-shaped design for the couple using the oranges. The dancers even unveil a couplet which wished the couple a happy marriage for the next 100 years to come.
Carrying out the beautiful presentation, the video ended with the couple posing alongside the lion dance performers, making this anniversary celebration one to truly remember.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Zirah revealed that the couple’s wedding anniversary is on 17 February 2023, landing in the midst of Chinese New Year celebrations. In an attempt to gift her husband something impactful, Zirah thought it would be a fun idea to organise a lion dance to commemorate their marriage.
“I wanted to have a different anniversary celebration. I am not the romantic type, but both of us wanted to surprise each other. He surprised me with a lovely place to eat, but didn’t get me flowers. He has tried in the past, but I become very awkward! I asked this lion dance group if they could organise a one-of-a-kind dance for our anniversary, and they did!” added Zirah to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Receiving immense praise, many Malaysians voiced how cute it was for Zirah to orchestrate and plan the surprise, inspiring others to do the same in the future.
“Oh, I am definitely having a lion dance for my wedding day!” commented one person.
Another commenter also mentioned how suitable it was to carry out the performance, considering the timeframe of Zirah’s marriage.
“I got engaged during the Chinese New Year period and officially got married during Deepavali season. This is a sign for me to bring all these festivities to my anniversary celebration later!” jested one user.
