It seems that not only is it sometimes unsafe to be a woman in Malaysia, but women also have to be wary of where they choose to leave their clothes and undergarments to dry.

According to a report by China Press, police recently received a report from a Petaling Garden resident about a man who was supposedly in the area and acting suspiciously.

Man

On 12th June, Brickfields Police received a report from a 36-year-old resident living at Petaling Garden who spotted the man acting suspiciously in the area.

They noticed the man staring at clothes hanging outside their house, and as they felt that something was off, they followed the man to a nearby neighbour’s house and, after confirming their suspicions, called the police.

The officers arrived and arrested the 45-year-old man, and upon searching his bag, they discovered a total of 25 pieces of women’s underwear.

The suspect later confessed that he went to three houses to steal women’s underwear to deal with his urges.

Police confirmed that the panty thief had nine prior convictions involving theft and drugs.

He was later charged in court on 13th June under Section 379 of the Penal Code, where he reportedly pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.

Kudos to the neighbour as well as the police for taking quick action against the pervert. What do you think of this incident? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
