About 3 months ago, it was reported that controversial model and actress, MS PUIYI, was suing her former business partner for cheating her out of RM4.3 million.

MS PUIYI had revealed that the 29-year-old man known as ‘Mentos’, who is also a former board of director member in her company, PY Empire Sdn Bhd, had deceived her into giving him a sum of money which he claimed was for settling tax arrears to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).

Now, MS PUIYI has taken to her Facebook page to share that she has won the lawsuit.

She wrote, “This morning, I would like to provide an update on the civil case I have filed in the High Court of Penang. For your information, Lai Kai Jian, also known as Mentos Lai, who is the defendant in this case, has not filed any appearance or documents from his side in relation to the case against him.”

“Therefore, my solicitor has filed a Judgment In Default (JID) against Mentos on July 26 (Friday), and we have successfully obtained the Judgment In Default for the amount of RM4,300,000.00.”

According to a report by Kosmo, due to LHDN tax arrears, MS PUIYI had to miss 4 events that took place in Australia after she was blocked from travelling overseas.

“I couldn’t go abroad for 3 months. However, the matter is finally resolved,” she said.

The High Court’s decision in MS PUIYI’s favour will grant her the full amount of her claim as well as interest and legal fees.

Do stay tuned for more updates.
