There has been more and more claims made by some big Malaysian public figures, and many people think that these claims made are more ridiculous one after another!

Recently, PAS lawmaker has claimed that child marriages will put an end to premarital sex, where growing teens with raging hormones lust for body contact.

The “rampant premarital sex” will be stopped by allowing child marriages he chimed on.

Pasir Puteh MP Nik Mazian Nik Mohamad said if child marriages are prohibited, it may only makes things worse. He tried to justify by saying that restricting child marriages would lead to a rise in the number of teenagers having casual sex.

“We now have teenagers below 16 who want to have sex,” he said during a debate on the Child (Amendment) Bill 2015 today at the Dewan Rakyat as reported by FMT.

Nik Mazian bought this topic up when he was arguing with DAP’s Teo Nie Ching about statutory rape. Teo brought up a case about a 13-year-old girl who married her 40-year-old alleged rapist in Sabah last year.

“How can we allow our children to marry a rapist?”, Teo said.

Instead, Nik countered by asking if the teenager was forced to engage in intercourse with the man 27 years her senior.

“If it was mutual; that means the child was lusty.” Nik added.

Teo rebutted by saying that instead of having the minors marry their rapists, education will be a better alternative to raise awareness between the young and old generation alike.

The Kulai MP questioned Nik Mazian whether he knew the definition of statutory rape while pointing out that sex with someone below the age of 16 was classified as such, even with their consent.

The legal minimum marriage age in Malaysia is 18. However, for Muslim girls, it is 16, while those aged below 16 can marry with the consent of the Shariah Court.
